Arsenal have appointed Mikel Arteta (37-year-old) as their new head coach. A former club captain, who has played five seasons, 150 games from 2011 to 2016, signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. He won two FA Cups and two Community Shields with the Arsenal as a player. Mikel’s coaching team will be announced soon.
Manager Unai Emery, his predecessor, was sacked last month after a seven-game winless run.
