After a convincing defeat on Tuesday against Salford City at home (0:4), on Wednesday Cambridge United decided to part company with manager Colin Calderwood (55). The new defeat was seventh in the past nine English League Two games. Calderwood arrived at the Abbey Stadium in December 2019, following the departure of then head coach Joe Dunne.
Cambridge United are in the 18th place of League Two standings, with a single goal scored in the last five league matches. The club announced that Mark Bonner will temporarily take charge of the first team.
