English Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) contacted Southend United and Macclesfield Town during this week over unpaid salaries. Both clubs failed to fulfil their financial obligations to the club’s staff. The English League One side Southend United, who are under a transfer embargo because of an unpaid tax bill, fail to pay February wages to their players and coaches on time. The League Two club Macclesfield Town for the fourth time this term failed to pay wages to their staff. The two mentioned clubs facing a fine if found guilty. That could be points deduction or even ejectment from the competition.
Southend United are 22. in the League One table, 17 points from the safe zone, while Macclesfield Town are 23. on the League Two standings, but only 2 points from the safety.
