According to Atletico Madrid’s official site, star forward Joao Felix suffered a muscle injury to his right leg during last weekend La Liga game against Leganés. It is not yet known how long he will be out of the squad, but he is doubtless out of the Madrid derby, at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.
Joao Felix completed 127 million euro transfer from Benfica to Atletico Madrid last July, but failed to meet huge expectations, with only four goals and two assists in all competitions this term (17 La Liga, 1 Copa del Rey, 4 Champions League appearances). Felix’s absence is another injury blow for Diego Simeone, as another striker Diego Costa is also ruled out.
