Two defeats in the first two German Bundesliga rounds led to coach sacking in two top-tier clubs.
FC Schalke 04 announced on Sunday that David Wagner (48) leaves the club after his side conceded 11 goals in their opening two games (0-8 against Bayern and 1-3 against Werder). Schalke is now without a win in the last 18 league games, more precisely since January 2020. The club will probably announce the name of new head coach before the weekend.
Just one day later, 1.FSV Mainz 05 released their head coach Achim Beierlorzer (52), after his side lost 1-4 against Stuttgart on Saturday and after players strike during the last week because of suspension of forward Adam Szalai. Assistant coach Jan-Moritz Lichte will take a charge of the club until further notice.
