Juventus FC (Italy Serie A)
Italian giants Juventus FC lost their winger Douglas Costa for about three weeks, due to injury of the hamstring on his left thigh, which he sustained during the Serie A clash against Hellas Verona on Saturday. The Brazil international has had 13 appearances this season for the Bianconeri.
AFC Ajax (Netherlands Eredivisie)
AFC Ajax announced on Monday that their regular centre back Joël Veltman sustained a knee injury during the Eredivisie game against PSV Eindhoven and will undergo surgery. The Netherlands international will be out of action for two months. Veltman missed only 2 of 21 Netherlands top-tier matches this season.
KV Mechelen (Belgium Jupiler Pro League)
Heavy blow for Belgian top-flight club KV Mechelen, as they lost two regular players during the past few days, due to injuries. First choice goalkeeper Yannick Thoelen (22 Pro League appearances this term) tore the front cruciate ligaments of his right knee and will be out for six to eight months. Forward Gustav Engvall (9 appearances, 2 goals) suffered an injury of his right knee will be on the sidelines for about four months.
Real Zaragoza (Spain La Liga 2)
Spanish second-tier Real Zaragoza lost their midfielder Javi Ros for the rest of this season, because of injury of the external meniscus in the right knee. He underwent surgery a few days ago and will be out between four and five months. Javi Ros is the club’s second top scorer this term, with 5 goals in 20 La Liga 2 appearances.
