After six games in all competitions without a win and 18th place on the League Two table, Mansfield Town sacked manager John Dempster (45-year-old) on Saturday. The club reacted urgently and as early on Tuesday appointed Bristol Rovers boss Graham Coughlan. Bristol Rovers are fourth in League One, just two points off an automatic promotion place to the Championship.
Also on Tuesday, Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock sacked manager Angelo Alessio (54), after four games without a win and two consecutive loses. Kilmarnock is fifth in the Premier League, with only one win in the last eight matches. The temporary solution on the Kilmarnock bench will be Alex Dyer, assistant manager.
