Fiorentina sacked Iachini, Celta fired Oscar Garcia

Fiorentina sacked their coach Beppe Iachini after three consecutive defeats and two draws out of seven games in this season, and promptly hired Cesare Prandelli as his replacement.

Rocco Commissostated that Cesare Prandelli is ‘the best person’ to sit on Fiorentina’s bench.

He also added that “Unfortunately, the current results require a change of technical guidance, but my esteem and gratitude to the man and the professional remain entirely unchanged.

Fiorentina’s President Rocco Commisso also appreciated the former coach and mentioned that “First of all I want to personally thank Beppe Iachini, a capable and determined coach, who, in the most difficult moment of last season, dragged and led the team, with his work, his dedication and his character.”

Commisso was fully pleased for joining Prandelli to the club and stated that “I also want to give my personal welcome to Mister Prandelli. We believe that his skills, his professional history and his humanity, recognized and appreciated by the world of football, make Prandelli the most suitable person to sit on the bench purple.

In the end he expressed his happiness in regards to selecting the new coach and added that “I hope that the new coach will be able to enhance and make the best use of our squad and, through the games and the future results that we will get, to give new satisfactions to the city of Florence and the great Viola Family.”

Celta Vigo have already chosen their new head coach and will appoint highly-rated Argentine boss Eduardo ‘Chacho’ Coudet.

Coudet, a former midfielder, had a small start at the Galician club during his playing career in 2002 but got popular for his playing at Argentine giants San Lorenzo, River Plate, and Rosario Central. The 46-year-old has been training giant clubs across South America since 2015 and led Racing Club to the Argentine league title in 2019.

He then left the club at the end of that year and was appointed at Brazilian club Internacional, whom he led to 23 victories in 43 matches at the helm.

The Galicians are currently 17th in La Liga having won two of their previous five matches and they approved the exit of head coach Oscar Garcia.

García took charge of Celta in November of 2019 with the Galicians third from bottom and managed to get their Primera status on the final day of the season.
